Wetangula says maize imports from Uganda, Tanzania don’t destabilise Kenya’s market

Bungoma senator Moses Wetang’ula called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure government restricts the entry of maize from nations outside Africa which he says are the source of the destabilisation of the local market. Senator Wetang’ula also called on the government to implement the Guaranteed Minimum Returns (GMR) programme to cushion local farmers from market shocks. The senator spoke at State House where President Kenyatta met a section of leaders from Western Kenya and Ukambani.
