War On Terror: Govt clamps down 15 NGOs suspected to be financing terrorism, accounts frozen

Fifteen NGOs suspected to be involved in financing terrorism activities in the country have been de-registered and their accounts frozen. The work permits of their foreign staff have also been revoked with immediate effect and the information regarding activities of the firms forwarded to the relevant security agencies for action. The NGOs Co-ordination Board has further directed all organizations to file annual reports and audited accounts in less than 21 days or face de-registration. Already 510 NGOs have been de-registered for non-compliance after their deadline lapsed.
