Two KCSE candidates from Heights Academy in Thika will now serve one year probation after a court found them guilty of stealing phones.
The two students are reported to have stolen an Infinix Note 5 valued at 18,000 shillings from Eunice Wanjiku, a KCSE invigilator and a Techno N65 valued at 10,000 shillings from Hassan Gabow, a police officer respectively.
The court heard that the two committed the alleged crime on 6th of November while doing their exam papers. The suspects who appeared before resident magistrate N.M Nyamori were positively identified by their fellow students before they were arrested from their hideouts by police and arraigned in court.
They pleaded guilty to the charges and begged for forgiveness, the court sentenced them to one-year probation without a fine.
