Twelve senior police positions have been abolished in a restructuring plan within the National Police Service that will also see over 20,000 Administration police officers join their colleagues from the Kenya police under a unit named the General Duties Police. The remaining officers from the AP department will now be in charge of border control and the anti-stock theft. The officers will also be given housing allowances as part of the government’s plan to resolve the police housing problems.
