Traders in Kisii are accusing the county government of imposing high taxes on their businesses and have threatened not to remit taxes to the devolved unit after the assembly passed a bill that doubles taxes on various sectors.
Tax on medium dealers in new and used tyres has been increased from Sh8,500 to Sh25,500 with traders owning medium restaurants with a capacity of eleven people paying Sh21,000 which shoot from Sh10, 500.
