Kelvin Muriuki, 14, was carried by a chopper from his former Karicheni primary school in Kieni East to Nyeri High School where he was admitted after scoring 372 marks in 2016 KCPE exams. The teenager, who wants to be a pilot, from poor family had joined his father at a quarry site to crush ballast in efforts to raise Sh53,000 required for school fees. He was rescued by Kenya Airforce Veteran Officers Association after reading about his plight in the media.
