Thousands of small-scale tea farmers who are shareholders of tea factory companies managed by the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) in Meru yesterday elected new directors in hotly contested elections.
They started streaming to different polling stations as early as 8 am to cast their ballots in the peaceful elections.
But some of the voters opposed the voting system accusing some of the candidates of bribing farmers to present their documents which include an ID and Payslip in a bid to get power of Attorney.
