Uasin Gishu Senator Margaret Kamar has accused management of National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) for colluding with millers to deny farmers space for 2018 grains.
The senator claimed that during the Senate Ad hoc Committee on maize, they found out that NCPB stores were full but not with maize bought from maize farmers but for millers.
She also lauded the Cabinet Secretary of Agriculture Mwangi Kiunjuri for ordering that miller who still has maize to release them immediately to allow farmers to delivers their produce.
Prof Kamar urged the CS to ensure that the NCPB stores across the country are opened by Monday next week noting that grain growers are suffering from many unable to pay school fees for their children.
