Second train service on SGR launched

Kenya Railways has introduced a second train service on the Standard Gauge Railway that will depart from both the Nairobi and Mombasa Termini at 3.30PM. Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary Dr James Macharia says that 350,000 passengers have been ferried since the launch of Madaraka Express on 1st of June this year with the Kenya Railways Corporation netting 567 million shillings in ticket sales. The CS says Freight services are set for to commence official operations in January next year.
