The strategic grain reserve trust fund is contemplating giving the government the green light to import 2 million bags of maize in the next two months. The agency, however, says this is only a precautionary measure given that there is sufficient maize that will last until the next harvesting season. The move comes amid protest by a section of Rift valley MPs who are opposed to maize importation.
