Religious leaders in Meru County have called for reforms in the electoral body and process in bid to make elections credible and acceptable.

The clergy who held a two-day Meru County Dialogue Conference spearheaded by the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) also want reforms to fight graft, strengthen the opposition and devolve more funds.

Addressing the press at Gitoro Pastoral Centre in Meru town, the religious leaders led by Meru County NCCK chairman Justus Miriti opposed proposals to expand the national government executive in case of a referendum.
