Recognizing the 3rd gender: Intersex people included in census

This year’s census which kicked-off over 3 hours ago has made Kenya the first African country to recognize special populations.

For the first time in the history of the country,this year’s census has included a third gender of intersex or people born with a sexual anatomy that does not fit the typical definition of male or female.
Robi Chacha spoke to intersex persons and tells us how the inclusion of the 3rd gender in the census will transform their lives.
