Pupils transiting to lower secondary school from primary school will not be required to sit for a national examination in a shift that puts to question the concept of placements as envisaged in the competency-based curriculum. Speaking at the third National Conference on Curriculum Reforms, President Kenyatta said the move was part of recommendations by the new curriculum taskforce meant to allow for a 100 percent transition from primary to secondary school for all Kenyan learners.
