Prices of maize flour rise after expiry of subsidy program

Retailers have sort to distance themselves from any underhand dealings in the recent spike of the price of Unga insisting that they have reverted to add a marginal mark-up on the final price of the commodity from what they receive from millers, following the expiry of the government subsidy program.
The price of a 2 kilogram packet of maize flour has increased from the 90 shillings subsidised price to retail at about 115 shillings.
