Nakuru county marks youth week, to increase youth resource centres

Despite the government provision that youth, women and persons with disability be awarded 30 percent of all government procurement, young people are yet to maximize on this opportunity. Speaking during the international youth week celebrations in Nakuru County, Governor Lee Kinyanjui, said the county is intent on increasing youth resource centres dedicated to teaching the young men and women in the county how to successfully apply for tenders with the govenment. This Govenor Kinyanjui said this will help in creating opportunities for self employment for the young people who make up more than 60 percent of the country’s population. The Nakuru Youth week ends today with the young people drawn from all over the county showcasing their talents and skills in governance, arts and entrepreneurship.
