MPs rubbish governors’ plea to be shielded from prosecution

Members of Parliament have reacted angrily to a proposal by the Council of Governors to be shielded from prosecution while in office. According to MPs and Senators, this is a new way for them to escape accountability. Their insistence is that it is only the president who is protected by the constitution while in office, and it would require a referendum to change such.
