Morocco opened new terminals at Tanger Med Port on Thursday, allowing it to surpass the Mediterranean’s largest ports Algeciras and Valencia and become the largest port in Africa in terms of container capacity.

The port which had an annual volume of 3.5 million 20-foot equivalent units (teu) in 2018, will add six million in capacity after its extension worth an equivalent of 149.6 billion shillings.
K24’s Tony Timase, attended the launch in Morocco and now compares Tanger Med Port with how the Lamu port will look like upon completion.
