Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi has said the county’s health facilities will be turning away patients without National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) cover.
He said the move is aimed at ensuring the county achieves universal health cover.
Mr Murungi said the county government will pay half of the NHIF premium for jobless youth in the county.
The governor directed hospital managements to spearhead the NHIF registration drive in their facilities.
