MCAs have only 7 days to debate Aukot’s bill

County assemblies that will not have debated the Punguza Mizigo referendum bill within the remaining seven days can be cited for absconding public and constitutional duty. Constitutional lawyer Bobby Mkangi however says the assemblies that will not debate the bill will be deemed to have technically disapproved the initiative. And as Stephen Letoo reports, Third Way Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot has dismissed speculation that his Punguza Mizigo bill is headed nowhere as he addressed the Machakos county assembly earlier today.
