Maize flour blending expected to create more jobs

An initiative by the by the government, agriculture and health value chain players to enhance maize flour blending is expected to help create more jobs in the food processing business. A research paper on sorghum production in Kenya by Tegemeo Institute shows that the country requires about 449,000 metric tones more to meet demand for blending maize flour. Irrigation Principal Secretary Prof. Fred Segor says the use of sorghum and other traditional food crops will help tame the high level of malnutrition.
