KENYA-SOMALIA ROW: Uhuru, Farmajo agree on ending maritime dispute amicably

After years of not reading from the same page over the Kenya‑Somalia maritime dispute, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo today hugged and agreed on a few issues including direct flights from Somalia’s capital Mogadishu to Nairobi, this despite the ongoing case at the ICJ where Somalia sued Kenya in 2014, seeking to redraw the sea boundary between the two countries from the current straight line to a diagonal flow.
