KEBS shuts down factory packaging substandard and unsafe water in Pipeline estate

If you buy bottled water, how sure are you that they water you buy is safe? The Kenya Bureau of Standards today shut down a water bottling factory in Pipeline Estate, on grounds that it produces substandard and uninspected water.

KEBS says factory which operates under the name Genjoy, had not been certified and had also illegally acquired mark of quality stickers. The regulator says the raid is part of a larger operation in different parts of the country to establish the quality of the different products being in the market. Water is listed as a high risk commodity and a slight contamination can lead to loss of lives or disease.
