KCB posts 14% growth in net profit in the first quarter

KCB Group has posted a 14% increase in profit after tax, in the first quarter of the 2018 financial year.This has seen the bank’s earnings move from 4.5 billion shillings posted in a similar period in the last financial year, to 5.1 billion in the period to March this year. The bank says the increased profit was as a result of a rise in lending, with the loan book growing by 5.8% to 418.6 billion shillings. KCB is now the second bank after Stanbic to report its first quarter earnings.
