Hundreds of passengers stranded due to ongoing crackdown by Kilifi North Sub-County response

Hundreds of passengers from Lamu, Tanariver,Kilifi and Mombasa Counties are stranded following the ongoing crackdown by the Kilifi North Sub-County Covid-19 response Multi-Agency team to fish out public service vehicles that have not complied with the Covid-19 protocols.
Buses and Matatus plying within Lamu and Mombasa Counties were nabbed during the morning crackdown at a roadblock mounted at the Kilifi Bridge along the Kilifi –Mombasa highway.

The vehicles were later directed to the Karisa Maitha football grounds awaiting compliance before they are released.
Addressing journalists Kilifi North Deputy County Commissioner Josephat Mutisya warned all public service operators of dire consequences for failure to comply with the laws by the government aimed at preventing the spread of CoronaVirus.
