More than 500 families are spending a second night in the cold after a team of security officials evicted them from a piece of land in Nandi county. The targeted areas include Chepturo, Kiptuiya and Kabtobongen where up to 2000 people have been rendered homeless following demolitions of their properties. Leaders from the Western region condemned the evictions terming them unlawful, with Nandi Governor Stephen Sang blaming the operation on the national government, specifically the interior ministry and dismissing the western leaders as busy bodies.
