Ken Yose an operator at the health waste management department at Nakuru level five hospital explains how a microwave and shredder machine works. He says first, the medical waste is collected from the hospital before it goes through high-temperature sterilization. It is then completely destroyed by the shredder. The process is done safely and effectively in a relatively closed environment. The shredder knives are wear resistant and tough to deal with upto 316 stainless steel and alloy scalpels.
