Health stakeholders want the government to declare non-communicable diseases a national disaster. Speaking during the 2nd Universal Health Conference in Nyeri, Amref Health Africa Country Director, Dr. Meshack Ndirangu said that over 50% of deaths in the country are related to non-communicable diseases with statistics expected to rise by 2020.
