Fury over numbers: Women leaders dispute census

Over fifty women leaders from the Inua Mama Movement have disputed the results released by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.
The women drawn from various political parties across the country said the census data did not reflect the true population of people on the ground.  The women who also drummed up support for the empowerment of women and the girl child, also promised to support the Building Bridges Initiative report but only if it advocates for the welfare of women.
The leaders denounced the violence that was witnessed during the Friday by election in Kibra that was meted out on Jubilee leaders, and called for peaceful and sober politicking by leaders to avert tension ahead of the 2022 polls.
