Former PS Kirui, Gakuo guilty in Mavoko Cemetery Land Saga

Former Nairobi town clerk John Gakuo and former permanent secretary Sammy Kirui have tonight began a 3-year jail sentence slapped on them by the anti-corruption court, over the multi-million shilling Mavoko Cemetery Land Scandal. They were found guilty of abuse of office and violation of procurement laws, alongside Mary Ng’ethe and Alexander Musanga who sat in the Nairobi city council tender committee that fraudulently Okayed the purchase of the 120-acre mavoko land that was to be used as a cemetery.
