Financial inclusion : More women than men own bank accounts in Kenya

Financial inclusivity level in Kenya is at 82%, the highest in Africa and it is expected to reach 100% by 2020.
According to a World Bank report the inclusivity levels in Kenya are at the same level with China.
Interestingly women own 78% of bank accounts in the country.
The report says mpesa and banking agents have largely aided in increasing the levels of inclusivity creating in the process 37.4 million mobile wallets.
