The burden facing farmers in tea growing areas might soon be a thing of the past as the senate’s ad hoc committee on tea prepares a bill that will bring various changes to the industry and eradicate cartels. The farmers, most of who are smallholders, have accused the Kenya Tea Development Agency of ignoring their plights, while calling on the government to come up with ways to ensure that every tea farmer across the country enjoys the proceeds of their sweat.
