Families displaced by floods to benefit from Red cross housing project

More than 6,000 families displaced by floods are set to benefit from a housing project under the Kenya Red Cross.Speaking in Kabarnet town during the launch of baseline survey of people living with disabilities, Kenya Red Cross secretary General Abbas Gullet said that the central bank has released 1 billion shillings for a pilot program in Kilifi and Tana River counties. 600 million shillings will be used to construct houses for the victims, and 280 million will go towards health and water. Out of the 6500 houses it plans to construct, 279 will be constructed in Baringo south for Ngambo, Eldume and Kapindasum flood victims.
