The government has warned maize millers against defying a directive to withdraw all blacklisted brands from the market. Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri says the government is investigating claims that some of the millers had lowered prices of blacklisted brands in a bid to clear the stock. The Kenya Bureau of Standards has ordered the withdrawal of five brands of maize flour over what it said was high levels of aflatoxin in the products.
