Constable Friday Barasa, who killed the deputy OCS in charge of Makueni Police Station and injured two of his colleagues last month, has appeared for the first time in a Makueni High Court today.
Constable Barasa did not plea in the case being heard before Judge Charles Kariuki, due to a medical report dated January 4th 2018. He will remain in custody at Mathare Mental Hospital remand for two months, as his case will be mentioned on February 20th. It was advised by those investigating that Barasa be detained at a mental facility as they wait for the doctor’s report. The court granted Barasa’s lawyer, Robert Onyango and his family members permission to visit him while in custody.
