The church has castigated the government for sowing seeds of polarization in the country through its strong arm tactics against the opposition which it says could lead to increased resentment. The NCCK also notes that the recent developments characterized by repression of fundamental human rights, manipulation of the media and suppression of free speech is not a good sign of a thriving democracy. As leila Mohammed now reports, the church calls the current situation a crisis that needs serious soul searching before all hell breaks loose.
