It is a bittersweet moment for the national sevens rugby team as this season’s captain Oscar Ayodi has been ruled out of action due to injury while regular captain Andrew Amonde is back from injury and is training with the team.

Ayodi has an injury in his left knee that requires surgery and the earliest he can rejoin the squad will be during the Commonwealth games in April. The centre will miss the Hamilton, Sydney, Vancouver, Las Vegas and Hong Kong Sevens legs of the World Sevens Series. Still regarding the doctor’s room Billy Odhiambo and Collins Injera are yet to recover with fears that they will miss the Sydney and Hamilton tour. However, regular captain Amonde is up for selection for the upcoming tour. Kenya picked 13 points from the first tour and lies 11th on the log.
