Armed bandits from Uganda who had stolen animals from Kotido in Uganda and crossed with them to Kenya were arrested and the stolen animals recovered by an Administrator in Urum Loima Sub County Turkana.
Loima Sub County assistant chief, Stephen Lorot, said he came across a group of six Ugandan men from the Jie community driving the animals from Kotido via Loima and upon questioning them, three of them escaped. The three who were left behind were later arrested and the animals recovered. The suspects were detained at an AP camp in Lokiriama before being handed over to the UPDF of Uganda for further interrogation. Area residents decry the increasing cases of cattle rustling and are calling upon security agencies to patrol the porous borders.
