A section of lawmakers from Northern Kenya are pushing for a speedy operationalization of equalization fund so as to address perennial community conflicts. While debating the matter on Wednesday, the MPs drawn from the marginalized areas particularly expressed concern over rising cases of banditry that is allegedly fueled by tough economic conditions in the region. According to the legislators said it is in the interest of the state to ensure that the living standards of people living in the affected areas are uplifted.
